"Elegant pagodas and attractive marquees"

For the first time, RÖDER has set up exclusive marquee systems for the internationally renowned Bad Homburg Open tennis tournament. The cooperation with the organisers and the event agency worked extremely well. TennisMagazin asked our Head of Tent Solutions, Jens Sturmhöfel, three questions about the commitment in Bad Homburg.

You provide the Bad Homburg Open with tents. Why did you decide to get involved with the tournament?

The RÖDER Group likes to get involved in sporting and cultural events of all kinds. We are proud that the organisers of the Bad Homburg Open have chosen us. Our company has been known for decades as a supplier of international sporting events: Summer and Winter Olympic Games, World Championships in many sports, UEFA Champions League finals, Formula 1 and Formula E races worldwide. We adapt our tent and hall systems individually to the respective sport and event size, from small party tents to double-storey event halls for sophisticated VIP hospitality. At the Bad Homburg Open, we equip the Park Village and the exclusive VIP area with elegant pagodas and attractive marquees. The Röder Group is not only known for comprehensive event services, we also produce temporary and permanent sports facilities, such as individual tennis halls for clubs.

What are you most looking forward to at the Bad Homburg Open?

It's very nice that one of the four German tournaments on the WTA Tour is taking place in close proximity to our main location in Büdingen. Personally, I am looking forward to first-class matches of the elite of international women's tennis. The special backdrop of the Bad Homburg spa gardens and the venerable tennis club will give the event the perfect ambience.

What is the fascination of lawn tennis for you?

Lawn tennis has something original, classic and the most prominent tournament in the world is played on grass. The Bad Homburg Open is also the official grass court preparation tournament for the Grand Slam Tournament in Wimbledon. Moreover, there are not many grass courts in Germany that are available for first-class international tennis events.
