Best case: COP23 – A temporary city made of tents
For the UN Climate Change Conference COP23 in Bonn, the agency Vagedes & Schmid commissioned the RÖDER Group to construct a temporary conference complex. This major event – with over 28,000 international participants, 500 NGOs and 1,500 journalists – required flexible and sustainable space solutions.

Multifunctional rooms for delegates, NGOs, the press and exhibitors were created in the reception and meeting area. The following were used:
- C-Tent Highlight Pagodas – for compact conference and information areas
- S-Tent Solutions – two-storey halls with stairs and lift
- Party tents and pagodas – ideal setting for lounges, catering and side events
Sustainability at the heart of it all: RÖDER as an environmental partner
COP23 set new standards for environmentally friendly events. RÖDER supported the event with a sustainable concept:
- Recyclable and reusable materials for tent covers, floors and components
- ISO 14001 and EMAS-certified processes
- Minimised carbon footprint through optimised logistics and resource efficiency
- Commitment of all suppliers to a UN sustainability code
